The Premier League has lauded Nottingham Forest hitman Taiwo Awoniyi on his remarkable scoring feat.
The Nigeria international entered the history books as the third African player to score in seven consecutive Premier League games after netting in Forest’s 3-2 defeat to Manchester United at the Old Trafford on Saturday.
Former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor was the first African player to achieve the feat.
Adebayor, a former Togo captain was later joined on the list by Liverpool and Egypt star Mohamed Salah.
Awoniyi was also the first Nottingham Forest player to achieve the feat.
The forward has so far scored three goals in three Premier League outings for the Tricky Trees this season.
He was Steve Cooper’s side top scorer last season with 10 goals from 27 league outings.
