The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested two individuals connected to a recent burglary and recovered stolen items worth millions of naira.
In a statement released on Thursday, the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, revealed that the suspects—Moses Godwill Ndiong and Abraham Udo—were apprehended on Monday, January 20, 2025, around 4:00 PM, after the police received reliable intelligence from a concerned citizen about a burglary at a residence in Okpokpong, Eket Local Government Area.
The statement read, “The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has successfully arrested two suspects, Moses Godwill Ndiong and Abraham Udo, in connection with the burglary on January 20, 2025, at approximately 0400 hours.”
Upon receiving the tip-off, Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, quickly deployed a team of officers to the scene, leading to the suspects’ swift arrest. During questioning, both suspects admitted to the crime.
Recovered items included burglary tools such as cutters and pliers, a 65-inch LG Smart TV, a 2900 SUMEC Generator, a 42-inch LG LED TV, a 32-inch LG LED TV, a Sony Home Theatre System, a Toyota Camry (registration number KY984EKY), six pairs of shoes, and electrical cables.
The PPRO emphasized that investigations are still ongoing and thanked the vigilant citizen whose timely report was instrumental in the arrests. He also urged the public to remain watchful and report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly.
