Nigerian Police authorities have announced diversion of vehicular traffic from most roads leading to the Eagles Square, Central Business District in Abuja.
A statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, said the diversion becomes necessary because of a major event taking place at Eagle Square Abuja on Tuesday.
President Goodluck Jonathan is billed to formally declare his intention to seek re-election in 2015.
Last week, the President purchased the expression of interest and presidential nomination forms.
Ojukwu, therefore, enjoined members of the public to use alternative routes between 05.00 hours and 08.00 hours on Tuesday, 11th November, 2014.
“The Nigeria Police Force regrets any inconvenience the diversion of vehicular movements within the area may cause members of the public, as this is one of the proactive security measures put in place to avoid break down of law and order in the area and Abuja at large,” Ojukwu stated.
