Three men, Akanmu Rasheed, 23; Ajibola Adekunle, 24 and Abdulraheem Lukman, 32, on Monday, appeared before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged theft and burglary.
The defendants, whose house addresses, were not provided, were arraigned on a two- count charge of stealing and break in.
The prosecutor, Mr John Idoko, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on July 30, around Ago-Ayo area of Osogbo in Osun.
Idoko alleged that the first defendant, Rasheed, did break into the house of one Adeika Balogun at Ago- Ayo area, Osogbo at about 12.a.m. to steal infinix hot 6 phone valued N70,000 belonging to Adeola Balogun.
He told the court that the second and third defendants, Adekunle and Lukman, allegedly received the phone from the first defendant, knowing that the item had been unlawfully obtained.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 412,390(9) and 427 of the Criminal Code of Osun (2003).
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The defence counsel, Sulaimon Akano, prayed the court to grant his clients bail in the most liberal terms.
The magistrate, Mrs R.A Olayemi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 each with a surety each in like sum and adjourned the case till Oct. 7 for hearing.
