The police on Friday arraigned three friends in a Wuse Zone II Magistrates’ Court for constituting nuisance and disturbing the public peace.
The police charged Emmanuel Asibie,35; Ali Sulieman and Gift Okechukwu with disturbing public peace.
The Prosecution Counsel, A.S Oyeyemi, told the court that the Asibie, of N0. 9 Abidjan Str. Wuse Zone III, Abuja, reported the matter at the Wuse Zone III Police Station, on July 24.
Oyeyemi alleged the defendants engaged in a free for all in Wuse.
He alleged that the defendants breached the peace.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 240 and 242 of the Panel Code.
After the charges were read to them, they pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate Idayat Akanni, admitted that the first defendant to bail in the sum of N5, 000 with one surety in like sum.
She also admitted Sulieman and Okechukwu to bail in the sum of N15, 000each with one surety each in like sum.
Akanmi ordered that the sureties must swear to an affidavit of means and deposit with the registrar of the court either their International passports, Drivers’ License, National Identity Number or Voters Cards.
She adjourned the case until Sept. 20, for hearing.
