Members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP (Southwest) in the United Kingdom, have congratulated the party’s new National Secretary, Prof. Adewale Oladipo. He replaces a former Governor of Osun state, Olagunsoye Oyinlola in substantive capacity.
The PDP (Southwest) UK branch, noted that Prof Oladipo’s emergence as the party’s National Scribe was in recognition of his experience in politics, leadership qualities and loyalty to the party.
A congratulatory letter signed by the PDP-UK secretary, Yemi Ayodele Ayeni and made available to Prompt News Online, states in part, “On behalf of the entire members of Peoples Democratic Party (Southwest) in the United Kingdom, we write to offer our warmest congratulations on your assumption of office as the National Secretary to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nigeria.
“Your nomination to this high profile office is a reflection of your wide-ranging experience in politics, your qualities of leadership and most importantly, your commitment to the party”.
The ruling party’s members in Diaspora however, said they were unaware of the challenges ahead of the new Scribe, urging him to give priority to the ongoing reconciliation effort in the party.
“We are not unaware of the challenging and herculean tasks ahead of you as the National Scribe of a party that is unarguably the largest party in Africa. Without mincing words, this is a challenging period in our political homestead but we are undoubtedly convinced of your ability and capability.
“Importantly, we enjoin you to make this ongoing reconciliation at all strata of the party a priority while working apparatus be utilised to re-position our party above consistently failed propaganda cum hues and cries resulting from our opposition’s ineptitude.
“We are in your support as you join hands with the efficacious leadership of the party in this journey of success and eminence. Sir, all hands must be on deck in ensuring that the dream of President Goodluck Jonathan comes to fruition,” the letter reads further.
