The Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson and former Military President, Gen Ibrahim Babangida, met behind closed doors in Minna, the capital of Niger State on Wednesday.
Dickson, who did not talk to journalists after the meeting which lasted about one hour, was said to have driven off immediately the meeting ended.
A reliable source who was close to the meeting, but declined to be named, explained that the 60-minute meeting took place at the ex-Nigerian leader’s Hilltop mansion in Minna, the country home of former military ruler.
Specifically, Dickson was said to have met alone with Babangida in his private study, away from the prying eyes of aides of both politicians.
“The Governor, after an hour, came out of the meeting and did not disclose the purpose of the visit but instead got into his car and zoomed off”, the source said.
