The Peoples Democratic Movement, PDM, has called on Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of resilience and sacrifice embedded in the message of Eid, which originated from the historical act of Abraham and his son Ishmael. The Party also prayed for God’s mercies, guidance and abundance for all Nigerians during this Sallah period.
The National Chairman of PDM, Bashir Yusuf Ibrahim, who spoke through his Media Advisor, Alaba Yusuf, enjoined Nigerians, Muslims and Christians alike, to seize the symbolic and golden opportunity of the event to reflect, to forgive one another and to work together peacefully for unity, security and tranquility to prevail in the country.
“May God in His Infinite Mercy bestow upon our fellow countrymen and women the wisdom, endurance and perseverance to continue the hard work of rebuilding Nigeria in order to hand over a better country to our children than the one bequeathed to us. As responsible citizens and people of faith, Nigerians must not give up on their country because this is the only country we have and we must make it work. If we all observe and adhere to the tenets of our scriptures by being just, fair and honest to ourselves and to each other, our country will be a much better place.”
PDM also prays for the return of security, peace and prosperity to all parts of Nigeria, especially those parts currently under siege from the acts of criminals and extremists. It also called on Nigerians to beware of the antics of those that are bent on exploiting our differences to destroy our country.
