Christy Ucheibe is optimistic the Super Falcons can beat Japan but warned it is important for the team to be clinical in front of goal.
The Super Falcons fired blanks in their opening two games against Brazil and Spain which they lost 1-0 each.
Randy Waldrum‘s side created enough chances to earn at least a draw from both games but were let down by their poor finishing.
The former African champions must beat the Nadeshiko to have any hope of progressing to the quarter-finals, either via goal difference in second, or from third spot.
“There’s hope that we can still qualify. I think we need to utilize our chances against our opponents,” Ucheibe said ahead of the game.
“We must do everything right when we get to the final third, we need to be more clinical in front of goal.”
Tonight’s encounter at the Stade de la Beaujoire, Nantes will kick-off at 4pm. READ ALSO:
