The Kwara Government said it has received 12,058 bags of grains of maize, millet and sorghum from the Federal Government.
The state Commissioner for Communications, Mrs Bola Olukoju stated this in a statement in Ilorin on Thursday.
The grains comprised 7,042 of 50kg bags of maize, 2,916 of 50kg bags of millet and 2,100 of 50kg bags of sorghum.
According to Olukoju, the state government also recieved 8,700 25kg bags of rice.
She said that the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Sen. Abubakar Kyari would flag off the distribution of the grains in the state soon .
The commissioner said that the distribution template sent by the Federal government would be strictly followed.
She said that the state government has always supported the people of the state in coping with the hardship caused by the removal of fuel subsidy.(NAN)
