Rep. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe (APC-Oluyole), has contributed to the treatment of a kidnap victim in Ekiti State.
This is contained in a statement issued in Ibadan on Sunday by her Media Aide, Mr Olamilekan Olusada.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Akande-Sadipe is the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Affairs.
Akande-Sadipe said her action resulted from a message she received from the family of the over the injuries she sustained in the hands of suspected ritualists.
She said that her family had reached out to her on the need for urgent medical care from the life-threatening injuries.
The lawmaker called on security agencies to find a lasting solution to insecurity in the country and appealed to Nigerians to dwell in peace and love.
Mrs Stella Aruleba from Nims University, Rajasthan, Jaipur in India, who spoke on behalf of the rescued victim, expressed delight and boundless gratitude to Akande-Sadipe whom she described as an inspiration.
She applauded Akande-Sadipe’s genuine love for mankind, noting that she swung into action even as the victim, a female, is not from Oyo State, which she represents at the House of Representatives.
Aruleba noted also that Akande-Sadipe’s contribution to the care of the victim came at a time the lawmaker had condemned the high spate of insecurity in the country. (NAN)
