Ahead of the official inauguration of Alhaji Isiaka Oyetola as Governor of Osun on Tuesday, the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa, has congratulated outgoing governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for a successful tenure.
Obasa also congratulated the incoming governor, Oyetola, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the victory in the gubernatorial election.
He said that the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, also deserved commendation for providing leadership in the party.
According to him, Tinubu should be hailed, not only for the victory in the Osun governorship poll, but also for the recent electoral victories recorded in the various by-elections that took place in the country.
“These victories are clear indication of the fact that Nigerians still love our party and support our development programmes and projects at all levels,” Obasa said in a statement.
NAN reports that the APC won the by-elections recently conducted in Irepodun/Isin/Okeero/Ekiti Federal Constituency of Kwara State; Kankia/Kusada/Ingawa/ Constituency of Katsina State; and Toro Federal Constituency of Bauchi State.
Obasa said that Oyetola was in a better position to work and improve on the achievements recorded by Aregbesola.
“He (Oyetola) worked closely with Ogbeni for eight years. He is an experienced administrator, well equipped to do the job and I have no doubt in my mind that he will succeed.
“I rejoice with Ogbeni Aregbesola on a successful tenure in office. He has performed extremely well in Osun and I know history will judge him positively,’’ the speaker said.
Obasa assured Nigerians that the APC administration at all levels would not relent in putting in place programmes and measures that would improve citizens’ welfare and standard of living.
