Napoli forward Victor Osimhen insists it was important for the Partenopei to start the defence of their Serie A title on a positive note.
The Parthenopeans defeated Frosinone 3-1 in their opening fixture of the season on Saturday night.
Osimhen scored twice for Napoli in the thrilling contest.
The striker cut a delighted after the game and also congratulated his teammates.
“It was important to start well, congratulation to the team,” Osimhen told DAZN.
“The opponent gave us a hard time, they are a good side. We have a great squad, and I am happy with this win. I’m happy I scored two goals, we must keep this momentum.”
Osimhen has earned huge plaudits from manager Rudi Garcia all summer.

The 24-year-old is delighted to get huge backing from the Frenchman.
“What can I say? It’s important for the coach to believe in me, it’s also important to repay the trust on the pitch,” said Osimhen.
“Everyone’s the leader, we have to take responsibility. We have Di Lorenzo, the captain, Mario Rui, Meret. As I said, we are one group. We want to keep on improving.”
