Victor Osimhen has expressed his love for Napoli following the TikTok video row with the club.
Osimhen and his agent, Roberto Calenda expressed their anger after two TikTok videos mocking him for missing a penalty in a league clash against Bologna were posted by Napoli last week.
The Nigeria international also took down all the images of himself in a Napoli jersey from his social media pages and celebrated scoring goals in muted terms over the last week.
Napoli later released a statement and claimed that the club had no intention of hurting their talismanic striker.
In statement released on Sunday, Osimhen expressed his love for the supporters of the Serie A champions.
“Coming to the City of Naples in 2020 was a wonderful decision for me. The People of Naples have shown me so much love and kindness, and I will not allow anyone to come between us,” reads the statement.
“The passion of the People of Naples fuels my fire to always play with my heart and soul, and the love for the badge is unwavering as I wear it with pride.
“The accusation against the People of Naples are untrue. I have a lot of friends that are Napolitans and have become part of my family and everyday life.
“I appreciate Nigerians and everyone for lending their voices to support and reach out to me. Thanks so much, I’m forever grateful.
“Let’s continue to spread unity, respect and understanding.
“FORZA NAPOLI SEMPRE.”
Osimhen played a key role in Napoli’s Scudetto success last season, their first in 33 years.
The former Lille scored 26 goals in 32 league appearances.
Hw has registered five goals in seven league outings this term .
