The Ondo State Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been dissolved, the National Working Committee (NWC) announced on Sunday.
Consequently, all structures of the party at the ward, local government and state levels remain dissolved.
The NWC also announced the composition of a Caretaker Committee to run the party affairs in the state. It is chaired by Dare Adeleke while Solomon Osawu will serve as Secretary.
A statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, appealed for understanding of all members.
“We enjoin all members of our great party in Ondo state to continue to work together in harmony even as we are confident now, more than ever before, of our total domination of Ondo politics especially with the rejoining of our political family by the hardworking governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Olusegun Mimiko,” Metuh stated.
Following the defection of the State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko to the PDP from Labour Party, some PDP bigwigs in the state have vowed to resist any attempt by the national leadership to dissolve the exco so as to pave the way for the governor to take control of the party.
