Business tycoon Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo has obtained expression of interest and nomination forms to compete in the governorship primary election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state.
Waheed-Adekojo, who also holds a position as an engineer, secured the forms on Wednesday at the APC national headquarters in Abuja, becoming the first candidate to do so in anticipation of the party’s primary election.
Addressing the press at the Party’s Secretariat, Funmilayo Adekojo expressed her confidence in her candidacy and pledged to align her campaign with the party’s guidelines.
She stated, “I am confident in securing the nomination as the party’s candidate and emerging victorious in the Ondo State Governorship Election. This is an opportune moment for women to showcase their leadership abilities and make a significant impact in politics.”
“As a woman, I understand the importance of representation and diversity in governance. I am committed to amplifying the voices of women and addressing the unique challenges they face. By promoting gender equality and inclusivity, we can build a stronger and more prosperous Ondo State for all its residents.”

Adekojo received a warm welcome on behalf of the National Working Committee by Alhaji Suleiman Argungu and others.
