The Knights of St Mulumba, Wuse Sub Council Abuja on Saturday elected a new Grand Knight, Sir Charles Omalu and Deputy Grand Knight, Sir Tony Obiechina to pilot the affairs of the Council for the next four years.
The emergence of the two Senior Knights happened during a keenly contested election conducted by the Chaplain, Rev Father Paul Salami in the Council Chambers at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Wuse Zone 2, Abuja.
The new Deputy Grand Knight, Sir Obiechina taking Oath of Office
Until his election as the Grand Knight, Sir Omalu was the Deputy Grand Knight, while Sir Obiechina, a former Public Relations Officer of the Sub Council was elected unopposed as the Deputy Grand Knight.
The positions became vacant following the election of the former Grand Knight, Sir Greg Azubuike as the Deputy Metro Grand Knight of the Abuja Province of the Order in January this year.
Shortly after the elections, the two new officers took their Oaths of Office which was administered by the Chaplain, followed by a formal hand over ceremony by the Immediate Past Grand Knight.
