Barring any last minute change, the national U-23 Olympic team and all the three women’s national football teams will have new coaches in a fortnight.
A spokesman of the Technical and Development Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Etubom Paul Bassey disclosed this to newsmen Monday evening in Abuja.
According to him, the U-23 male team better known as Dream Team and all the women’s national football teams will get new handlers.
The U-20 Women’s Team, Falconets have a FIFA U- 20 Women’s World Cup match against their counterparts from Tanzania in less than two months.
Bassey who spoke at the NFF Glass House, Abuja, disclosed that there will be a formal announcement for the submission of application letters by prospective coaches before the end of this week.
He said, “The Technical and Development Committee has decided to call for applications for the vacant positions in the U-23 male team and the various national women’s teams especially the Falconets that have assignments in the couple of weeks.
“Hopefully, the NFF will call for applications and the committee will meet in a fortnight to pick capable hands to manage our national teams”.
It can be recalled that the NFF has made it clear that the only two coaches on her payroll now are Gernot Rohr and Salisu Yusuf of the Super Eagles Team.
All previous contracts were terminated after paying off the coaches last month with Aiteo Group sponsorship money.
