A couple of weeks after resigning as Minister of Police Affairs, Caleb Olubolade, has declared his intention to contest the governorship election in Ekiti state under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He made the declaration at a reception organized in his honour by the state chapter of the PDP.
Olubolade promised to run a transparent programme that would be in line with the transformation agenda of the President Goodluck Jonathan.
Describing the present administration in the state under Governor Kayode Fayemi as having failed the people, the former Minister said the N25 billion bonds being sought by Fayemi, was only an attestation.
Olubolade spoke further, “I want to assure you that I will not borrow a dime to finance the state and all I am going to do as programmes will align with the transformation agenda of President Jonathan. I am determined to rescue Ekiti from the pangs of bad governance.”
He used the occasion to thank Jonathan for giving him the opportunity to serve the nation, assuring that he would not disappoint the people should he be voted in as next governor of the state.
Speaking, Ekiti State PDP Chairman, Makanjuola Ogundipe, while enjoining the people to vote the APC government out of power, assured that a PDP-led government would recover the looted funds and expend same on provision of basic infrastructures.
