The Old Girls of St Ita’s Girls Grammar School, Sapele, Delta State have raised funds to build a Ceremonial Hall as to to give the school which has been in existence for about sixty years a facelift.
At the foundation laying ceremony, the Chairman of the occasion and Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege pledged continuous commitment to improving the quality of education in Delta state.
Senator Omo- Agege stressed that the education industry today is faced with many challenges which can be surmounted by adapting to new technologies that will leverage education as a tool for positive transformation and social rebirth.
He commended the Old girls Association for the laudable project considering the economic situation of the country, explaining that completion of the complex will be a major turning point for the school, students and staff.
Members from the diaspora, the thirty-six states of the federation including the FCT were in attendance.
Highlight of the occasion was the dedication of a pavilion built in honor of one of the old girls, late Patience Gbinije.
