The management and staff of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) were this morning thrown into mourning when the news of the sudden demise of the former Secretary General of the federation, Chief Taiwo Joseph Ogunjobi broke.
The current NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi who addressed the staff earlier today after he heard the news at the Glass House, Abuja, lamented the death of the astute football technocrat who was before his death the Chairman of Osun State Football Association.
He said that the football fraternity has lost an important person in Ogunjobi, adding that his death has sent shock waves across Nigeria and beyond and prayed for the repose of his soul.
To show how painful the death of Ogunjobi has hit the NFF, Sanusi granted the staff a day off their duty posts as a mark of respect for the former Head of the NFF secretariat.
Thereafter, a visibly shaken NFF staff made their ways out of the Glass House in sympathy with the death of their former boss and in compliance of the directive of the General Secretary.
Ogunjobi was an ex-national team player, former player and SolevAdministrator of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan and later General Manager of Julius Berger FC of Lagos before moving on to become the Secretary General of the federation under the regime of Brig. General Dominic Obukadaka Oneya (Rtd).
