The Minister of Water Resources, Mrs. Sarah Reng Ochekpe has condemned the action of terrorist who planted bomb at Nyanya bus stop that caused the death of 75 people and injured over 124 people last Monday.
The Minister alongside with her counterpart, the Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Zainab Maina spoke to journalists shortly after visiting the Bomb blast victims at Maitama and Asokoro General Hospital.
Ocheckpe said “ What happened is traumatizing to everybody, what happened is condemnable but beyond condemnation we want to call on all Nigerians to know that this is an attack on all of us and we must rise up and resist it, this is beyond human comprehension it is total of wickedness”
She expressed that whoever carried out such act and happily and delighted in seeing people suffering and losing their lives should be condemned.
The Minister advised that “We must also be watchful and check the activities of our neighbours, whatever we see that is not right we should not keep quiet about it, we should not also wait until security agents come, we should be able to raise alarm within the community”.
Ochekpe urged Nigerian people to be more vigilant and report to the appropriate authority any suspicious action or movement within the neighbourhood instead of waiting until when such mayhem on the entire country is executed.
The Minister, according to a statement by Musa Mato, prayed for the injured victims to have quick recovery, God’s comfort and Mercy for those who lost their lives during the incidence.
