Osun Sports Council said 115 athletes are representing the state at the National Youth Games (NYG) which began in Asaba, Delta on Sept. 9 to 19.
Mrs Funmilayo Moradeyo, the ouncil’s Spokesperson, who said this in a statement on Monday, said the state would participate in 23 games.
The games include, Athletics, Basketball, boxing, Chess, Cycling, Dart, Football (male and female), Gymnastics, Hockey, Judo and Karate.
Others are: Para Athletics, (Para Table Tennis), Scrabble, Squash Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Traditional game (AYO), weightlifting and wrestling.
She said the Council’s General Manager, Mr Rotimi Dunmoye and Director (Coaching and Training), Mr Demola Daini, assured that all arrangements towards a successful outing have been concluded.
Moradeyo said all the athletes and their handlers too have promised to do their best to ensure that the state was well- represented by winning win medals at the games (NAN).
