The final Match Week of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Women Premier League season sealed the fate of some teams in the league as Naija Ratels of Abuja escaped relegation in Group A.
The duo of Edo Queens and Bayelsa Queens also joined the four other qualified teams – Nasarawa Amazons, Confluence Queens, Heartland Queens and Rivers Angels to the Super Six playoffs of the league.
The final Match Week began on Wednesday with six matches played in various stadia across the country, while two remaining games were played on Thursday.
In the game played at the Asaba Township Stadium, Edo Queens held defending champions Delta Queens to a one all draw but the score was enough to seal a Super Six spot for the Godwin Obaseki ladies.
Meanwhile Bayelsa Queens lost 1-2 to Robo Queens but their 22 points in 14 games was enough to secure a spot in the final six.
Last week, Naija Ratels of Abuja were seventh place in Group A, one spot above relegation, and a defeat in their last game today against Abia Angels would see them relegated to the Nigeria Women Football League (NVFL) championship.
