By Gracious Akujobi The board of the Nigeria Women Football league has waived the remaining matches of Adamawa Queens due to the difficulties clubs have playing matches against the team at home.
In a release signed by the Executive Secretary of the board, Isaac Ajisafe and made available to Prompt News, it was decided after wide consultation that all matches involving Adamawa Queens should be stopped forthwith.
The release reads in part:
“All the remaining home matches of Adamawa Queens FC in the Women Premier League have been waived .
“All matches they have already played or deemed to have been played for the 2014 season have also been cancelled.
“The league table indicating club’s performance to be updated based on the above.
“Due to poor turn -out and the Annual General Assembly of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) already fixed for 22nd November,2014 which invariable mark the end of the football season, the NWFL has resolved with NFF that there would be no amateur league play -off this season.
“Meanwhile, the week 22 Women Premier league matches earlier slated for 30th November,2014 will now be played on 22nd November,2014”.
