Bayelsa Queens head coach, Domo Okara is in buoyant mood following his side’s impressive start to the defence of their Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) title, reports Prompt News.
The Prosperity Girls defeated former champions Bayelsa Queens 3-0 in their matchday one encounter at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa on Wednesday.
Bayelsa Queens head coach, Domo Okara is targeting a return to the continent.
Juliet Sunday bagged a brace, while Mary Adeyemi scored the other goal.
Okara refused to get carried away his side’s impressive win as he set his sights on a possible return to the continent.
“I wasn’t surprised with the result. Rivers Angels are a very good side. I knew it was going to be a very difficult game but was very glad we won,” the 45-year-old manager told CAFOnline.com.
“Every team in the [NWFL Premiership] league has a chance and are good. No team is a pushover. We will take the league step by step, but I would really love to go back to the continent.”
Okara’s side have won the NWFL title four times.
Bayelsa Queens finished in third position in their maiden appearance in the CAF Women’s Champions League.
