The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says surveillance equipment is needed by the Corps to adequately protect the nation’s critical national asset.
the Corps Commandant General (CG), Ahmed Audi said this is in a statement by NSCDC Public Relation’s Officer (PRO), Mr Olusola Odumosu, on Friday in Abuja.
Audi said that the protection of Nigeria’s infrastructure from vandals would be better achieved when the Corps is equipped with state of the art surveillance equipment.
He highlighted some of the equipment to be: surveillance cameras, utility vehicles to navigate difficult terrains, drones and tracking devices.
“ This technologies will help the Corps to carry out diligent prosecution of its assignments,” he said.
The CG said that after a courtesy visit to NSCDC headquarters by some delegates from the United States and France, the corps is to partner both countries on different areas of training and manpower development.
“ Training in Counter Terrorism, Counter Insurgency and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Explosives (CBRNE) accompanied with up to date simulation exercises will better reposition the Corps,” he said.(NAN)
