By Godwin Kingsley, Lafia Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has paraded a suspect for allegedly indulging in the sales of marijuana.
The suspect who is an ND 1 student of Electrical/ Electronic from The Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa was paraded by the state commandant of NSCDC, Andekin Musa Amos in Lafia, Friday.
Addressing newsmen at the command, the state commandant said the suspect was intercepted by his men at Garku, Kokona Local Government of the state when the suspect sold a bag of marijuana to a woman who was used as a bait to capture him.
“The suspect is a student of Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa. He hails from Akoko-Edo in Edo State. He was intercepted by our men at Garaku, the headquarters of Kokona Local Government when he was distributing marijuana to his customers. He was caught when he was selling to one of our officers’ wife who we used as a bait to capture him”, he said.
He added that the suspect would be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for prosecution.
Giving his own version of the story, the suspect conceded to the allegation that he is a drug dealer but promise to repent if pardoned. He added that he ventured into the business to serve as his source of livelihood after losing his parents at the age of six.
