The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command, says it has arrested two suspects for allegedly vandalising cables and stealing three units batteries in the state.
This is contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the corps, DSC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi on Friday in Kano.
Idris-Abdullahi said that personnel of the Anti-Vandal Unit of the command arrested the suspects at Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), sub-station situated at Independence Road, Nassarawa Local Government, following a midnight distress call.
He explained that the suspects were arrested for robbery, theft and vandalising 45mm armored cables and 3 driven unit batteries belonging to KEDCO.
“Operatives of the command are on the trail of three other suspects, who are now at large” he said
He added that investigation was ongoing and once completed, the suspects would be charged to court.
“The vandalisation of these cables and 3 driven unit batteries has largely affected supply of electricity to many places in Kano leaving different communities in total black out” he said.(NAN). READ ALSO:
