No fewer than 17 new players were unveiled by Kwara United in Ilorin on Thursday.
The players will join 18 other old players of the team as part of the squad for the new season.
Ifeanyi Ogba, former Rangers International mobile attacker, Oyeleso Suraj, seasoned NPFL goalkeeper from Plateau United, Akani Akeem, from Sporting Lagos are some of the 17 players joining the Harmony Boys.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony held at the multimillion naira Sugar Film Factory in Ilorin, Bashir Badawy, General Manager, Kwara United, representing the club chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, said that the recruitment process was painstaking.
“We undertook tours in Ikenne in Ogun, Lagos and Bayelsa states just so we could pick the right blend of players for the season.
“As you have seen from the players, we the right blend of ages, parading young and experienced footballers,” Badawyi said.
Reeling out match data and statistics of the tour and invitational tourneys played in the three states, the club GM said Kwara still remain a formidable team to play.
“We hardly concede goals. We have beaten top rated clubs including Al Merikkh of Sudan, a continental giant.
“We still have days to spare in our training schedule and I can assure you that the boys will be ready to fire on all cylinders as soon as the league commences,” he said. READ ALSO:
