Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, has scheduled August 17th, 2023 to hold its draws for 20 elite clubs for 2023/2024 football season.
After a 4-hour meeting in Abuja on Thursday, between NPFL Board headed by Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye and club managers, an agreement was reached to play a full league that will kick start August 26/27 at various centres approved by the league body.
PROMPT NEWS reliably gathered that the initial plan was to play an abridge league as proposed by NPFL but the clubs turned down the proposal as playing the full season would be the best for players who are the main actors in the round leather game.
They also agreed to strengthen the rules and regulations for the new season, hold seminars for referees and match officials. READ ALSO:

The NPFL Chairman further stated that venues not approved for last season league matches will remain closed until all necessary facilities are provided to make it accessible and television friendly.
Elegbeleye announced that the draws for the new season will hold August 17th in Abuja.
