Nottingham Forest are looking to sign a short-term replacement for Taiwo Awoniyi, who is sidelined with a groin problem.
Awoniyi is expected to spend around two months on the sidelines after picking up an injury in the 1-0 away win at Southampton early this month.
Steve Cooper’s have a number of regular players injured at the moment.
Dean Henderson (thigh), Willy Boly (ankle), Jesse Lingard (hamstring), Cheikhou Kouyate (hamstring), Moussa Niakhate (hamstring), Omar Richards (leg), and Giulian Biancone (ACL) are all on the sidelines.
Forest are in talks with Newcastle United to bring in Chris Wood on loan for the remainder of the campaign to bolster their attack in Awoniyi’s absence.
Awoniyi is currently the club’s joint top scorer with four goals from 16 league outings.
