By Gracious Akujobi The Head Coach of Kogi United, Fatai Osho has sent out warning signal to players who wish to come for screening as the club brace up for new season, saying only the best will be selected.
Speaking to newsmen at Lokoja Confluence Stadium, the team’s screening venue, Osho assured that both old and new players would be handed opportunity to express themselves.
“For me, I think to get the best players do not need months, we only need to look at what they are able to do and how they can express themselves – those who will particularly fit into the style we want- the best of the players we will picked – at the end we can raise the best squad that can actually make the state proud.”
The former head coach of Remo Stars is confident he can turn the fortunes of Kogi United around bearing in mind that he is not new to the coaching game.
“I am not new to the Nigeria National League, I was the head coach Remo Stars last season, we conducted a similar exercise like this, where we got the best of players – and coming to Kogi United the standard should never drop.
“I will have to do better than when at Remo stars, where we came a mile short of getting to the
Premier League. Looking at the standard of facilities at the stadium, we have no choice than to gain promotion into the Premier league next season,” he stated.
Screening for players at Kogi United will last for one week from October 21-26, as the team prepares for 2013/2014 Nigeria National league season.
