The board of the Nigeria Nation Wide League (NNWL) has resolved to change its name since the name it currently bears could not scale through at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
This is part of the resolutions reached at the just concluded congress of the board held in Abuja.
The communiqué signed by Mojeed Adegbnbin and made available to Prompt News, after the meeting reads in part:
A- The congress commended the effort made by the NNWL Secretariat on the need to register Nations Wide League with the Corporate Affairs Commission and also agreed to set up a Committee which will find a suitable name that will scale through at CAC.
B- The Congress agreed to extend the registration of clubs to March 6,2015 and the 2015 football season to commence on March 19.
C- The congress agreed in total the explanation made by the Nigeria Nation Wide League Chairman on the tenure of the current board which will end in December 2015.
D- The congress also approved the partnership with NTA and FRCN on coverage of the NNWL activities. Nkechi Obi of Premium Sport Management was commended for achieving this feat.
E- The congress unanimously adopted the amended status and rules and regulation from 2015 season and equally directed the secretariat to make sure all delegate members and state football association has a copy each.
F- It was also agreed that the league will commence as follows:
Division One- March 19,2015
Division Two- April 2,2015
Division Three- May 2015
Play-off May 2015
G- It was also agreed that clubs must ensure that players and officials,but with an option to chose any insurance company of their choice if they are not comfortable with the one recommended by NNWL as long as it conforms with FIFA standard
