Kogi United Football Club Head Coach Tunde Abdulrahman on Friday, expressed optimism that his team would have a good outing in Plateau against the Mighty Jets FC.
Abdulrahman told newsmen in Lokoja that, his boys had prepared well for the match and would surely continue their impressive performance with an away victory against the hosts in Jos.
The former Kwara United and Wikki Tourists handler said: “ We are in good stead for this match’’.
“We have done the needful, in terms of preparation and want to give everything in order to pick the whole points in Jos.
“No doubt, it will be a tough game but we will be ready to withstand anything from our hosts to achieve our targets.’’
Abdulrahman, however, said the top striker of the team, Austin Bentu, suffered head injury in their match against Aklosendi International FC of Lafia.
Kogi United lost 1-0 in a similar fixture last season in Jos with a controversial first half penalty converted by Kabiru Yaro.
The Lokoja side game against Mighty Jets is a Match Day two fixture of the 2017/2018 Nigeria National League (NNL) May 5 at Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos.
Kogi United is sure of continuing the bright start in the season after beating new comers, Aklosendi International FC, last week.
Mighty Jets players are expected to use all they have to claim victory on Saturday, having suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat to newly-promoted NAF FC last weekend in Abuja.
John Jerome, a United player, disclosed hat the approach to the game would be different in Jos, stressing that Kogi United had grown in strength and composure.
“The Mighty Jets were lucky last time to beat us because we scored a good goal that was disallowed, but we will not allow that again.
“We have matured enough and have more strength now to face our hosts,’’ Jerome said.
