The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Monday said it had partnered with a construction firm, Manzuwa Ventures limited, for the building of houses for its personnel.
Mr Sunday James, its Public Relations Officer, made this known in a statement in Abuja, shortly after the project was flagged-off.
“The housing scheme is aimed at providing affordable accommodation for officers and men of the service,” he said.
He quoted the Comptroller-General (CG) of NIS, Mr Muhammad Babandede, as urging the company to look into making the project affordable.
“The CG also urged the firm to deliver the houses within the specified period so that the contributors will benefit while still in service,” the statement stated.
It said that Babandede, who was represented by the Assistant CG, Human Resources Management (HRM), advised the company to be flexible on its terms so as to accommodate as many people as possible.
The NIS Housing Scheme is located at Kyami, along Airport Road, Abuja.
