Mr James Onanefe Ibori, former Governor of Delta State, was a guest at the headquarters of Nigeria’s Secret Police, DSS on Saturday.
Ibori, who was released from United Kingdom prison in December 2016, after serving half of his 13-year sentence arrived Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja aboard a British Airways flight.
He headed straight to DSS headquarters at Asokoro District, where he met with the Director General, Lawal Daura.
As at press time, it was not clear whether he was there at the instance of the DSS boss or on his own volition.
But, Mr. Daura, confirmed that he met with Mr Ibori, adding that he would return shortly for further discussion.
“He met me for a short debriefing session and way forward.
“Also, to welcome him back to his fatherland.
“We are also meeting soon to discuss issues of interest affecting the Nation,” DSS DG said.
Prompt News Online recalls that Mr. Ibori left the DSS headquarters for his home town, Oghara, Delta state.
