By Gracious Akujobi Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has announced that its professional league season for 2014 will kick off March 1.
This was contained in a communiqué released after its 2013 congress held in Lokoja, Kogi State capital.
Other resolutions reached at the congress are: The Congress passed an implicit vote of confidence on the Board of the Nigeria Women Football League headed by Dilichukwu Onyedinma
The Congress adopted the formal registration of the Nigeria Women Football League and Women Premier and Professional Football Clubs with the Corporate Affairs Commission (C.A.C).
The Congress approved the setting up of a three-man committee to look into the existing Rules and Regulation of the League and come up with amendments where necessary.
The Congress approved the 1st of March, 2014 as the kick-off date for the 2014 League season.
The Congress approved that match officials for Premier League matches would come from outside the States of the teams involved.
The Congress thanked the Executive Governor and good people of Kogi State for their magnamity in hosting the 2013 Congress of the Nigeria Women Football League.
The Congress congratulated the National U-17 Women Team (The Flamingoes) and the National U-20 Women Team (The Falconets) for qualifying to represent Africa in the World cup in their age grade categories.
