The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has won the 2018 Nigeria Aviation “Best Agency for International Trade and Travel Facilitation” Award NIGAV 2018.
A statement by Public Relations Officer of the service, Mr Sunday James, noted that the award was presented to the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mr Muhammad Babandede during the 2018 NIGAV Award in Lagos.
According to the statement, NIGAV Award is Nigeria’s most prestigious air transport award organised to promote excellence in the industry.
“The award measures the level of efficiency of Ministries, Departments and Agencies operating in the aviation sector by gauging their compliance to Service delivery.
“This year’s award focused on level of efficiency on timeliness and compliance to Executive Order 001 on ease of doing business and default approvals.
“Hence, among five major MDAs like the Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service, the NIS scored 84 per cent to emerge number one.”
“While receiving the award, the CGI said that the feat was a testimony to the service’s commitment to the implementation of the executive order on the ease of doing business in all NIS service windows,’’ it said.
