An indigenous coach will take charge of the Super Eagles following an agreement between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) executive committee and technical committee.
Prompt News scooped from a reliable source in the NFF that two committees met on Sunday to take a final decision on who will succeed Jose Peseiro as handler of the three-time African champions.
They both unanimously agreed to appoint a local coach for the team instead of an expatriate.
An announcement is due to be made this week on the new man that will be saddle with the responsibility of leading the Super Eagles.
Former internationals, Emmanuel Amuneke and Finidi George are the two leading candidates for the vacant position. READ ALSO:

The new coach first assignment will be the 2026 World Cup double header qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
The two matches will hold in June, 2024.
