Nigeria football spokesman, Ademola Olajire, said at the weekend that there has been no change to what has been streamed to the public previously as the Super Eagles’ schedule leading to the 20th FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil.
“We have heard people talking about cancellation of the friendly with the Senior Team of USA. Sincerely, we don’t know where that is coming from.
“For avoidance of doubt, the NFF and its Official FIFA Match Agent, Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport hereby re-confirm that the Super Eagles will regroup in London on Saturday, 25th May, play Scotland at the Craven Cottage ground of English Premiership side Fulham FC on Tuesday, 28th May and fly to the USA on Wednesday, 29th May.
“The African champions will play the Senior Team of Greece at the Philadelphia Union Stadium on 3rd June and then take on Team USA at the EverBank Field Stadium in Jacksonville on 7th June, before flying to Sao Paulo on 11th June.”
Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport added: “The United States provide us with similar climate and time zones as we will encounter in Brazil and more importantly, provide us with world class facilities for both training and accommodation, for our players’ comfort.
“This will give us the opportunity to provide the right atmosphere for our players as well as afford them quality training facilities ahead of the FIFA World Cup.”
