ABUJA – Police personnel Friday afternoon arrested Chris Giwa, for attempting to take over the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF secretariat forcefully.
Giwa, is laying claim to the NFF presidency having secured a court ruling declaring the 2015 Warri Congress that produced the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF board illegal.
The proprietor of Giwa FC had stormed the NFF secretariat located at Wuse Zone 7, Abuja, alongside his lieutenants to take over.
Giwa was seen touring the secretariat with his men shortly after which he was arrested.
Mr Jide Fashikun, a strong member of the Giwa group said that they were still at Wuse police station as at the time of filling this report.
According to him, the DPO of Wuse police station said they were not informed about the take over.
The DPO however said he would contact his bosses at the FCT Command and Headquarters.
Prompt News recalls that police personnel have been stationed at the NFF secretariat for weeks now following Giwa’s vow to takeover the Glass House.
