The leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation has mourned the passage of the father to the Media Officer of the national team, Ben Alaiya, whose father Pa Moses Jemila Alaiya, died in his hometown of Ososo in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State on Tuesday night.
Pa Alaiya took ill only last Thursday but passed on Tuesday. NFF President, Aminu Maigari, told Alaiya in a telephone conversation that he was shocked at the news of the demise but assured that he was sure the man lived a fulfilled life.
Chairman of the NFF Technical Committee, Chris Green, said he was also shocked at the passage and prayed God to help stop deaths in the football fraternity and among their families.
Head Coach, Stephen Keshi was simply short of words assuring that as a man, the Media Officer will have to bear the burden as the first son of the great Alaiya family of Ososo. Burial arrangements will be announced soon according to Ben Alaiya. The late Moses Alaiya, was born on January 13, 1942.
