The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is currently locked in talks with Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro over a new contract.
Technical director of the NFF revealed that the football house is negotiating with Peseiro on fresh terms which will see the Portuguese remain in charge of the three-time African champions.
PROMPT NEWS reports that Peseiro’s contract ended at the end of last last month.
The 63-year-old has reportedly accepted a cut on his $70,000 monthly salary to keep the job.
“At the moment he is in charge, we are discussing in-house and we are giving him conditions as well,” Eguavoen told reporters at the end of FIFA instructors course in Abuja.
“We are flexible, so it could be suitable for both sides and once we reach a common ground, why not?
“We would invite him and once we agree and we arrive at a common ground, we would be flexible and we also want him to be flexible with us.”
“Contract or no contract, he is a human being and he is still the coach of the national team as it is.”
