The Nigeria Football Federation has dismissed a petition by a so-called ‘Nationwide League One Clubs Forum’, and expressed support for the initiatives and efforts of the NLO secretariat in re-positioning the game at the lowest strata.
In a letter addressed to the Executive Secretary of the Nationwide League One and signed by the Coordinator of the Leagues, Dr. Christian Emeruwa, the NFF questioned the credibility of the ‘faceless Forum’ while lauding the initiatives of the secretariat headed by Mr. Olusola Ogunnowo.
“We at the Nigeria Football Federation are satisfied by the actions taken so far by the Nationwide League One secretariat and we commend the secretariat for its initiatives towards ensuring that football at the lower strata of the league is better organized.
“Meanwhile, it is instructive that we state categorically that the Nigeria Football Federation will not tolerate the activities of any group in bringing the administration of football to disrepute. We have gone through the petition of the purported “Nationwide League One Clubs Forum” and observed that it does not have a physical or mailing address, or an email of phone number.
“We find such petitions as faceless although we also did conduct due diligence by requesting the NLO to respond to all the allegations. We are satisfied with your response and will like to state that stakeholders that are recognized by the Nigeria Football Federation are the Congressmen and women of the NLO and not a Forum.”
