By Gracious Akujobi Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has approved the programme of the Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba ahead of their Africa Youth Championship (AYC) in Senegal.
Manu told Prompt News on Tuesday evening that he was happy his program has been approved, saying the coaching crew would put everything in place to get the needed result at the AYC.
“Our program has been submitted for long and I have just been told that the program has been approved.
“We are to play Ghana on February 15 here in Abuja then we go to Ghana for the return leg to be played on the 18th. We are likely fly to Banjul from there for the final phase of the preparation for the AYC”.
On how many players will make the team to Ghana and Banjul, Manu said that will be made known as soon as they finalize arrangement but hinted on traveling with thirty players.
Meanwhile, the U-17 World Cup winning coach said he and his technical crew will fortify their defense adding that the non availability of Isaac Success in the team yet does not portend danger.
“We need to fortify the defensive line, we need to work on our defense and also how to improve our scoring chances too
“We have lots of players on ground so we should not be thinking of one player who is not available.
“We have sent an invitation to Isaac Success for long; we are still waiting for his arrival. If he comes before the deadline for the final list he can always be useful to this team so it’s not our fault that Isaac success is not here,” he concluded.
