As the Nation marks her 57th Independence anniversary on Sunday, a former Member of the House of Representatives (1999-2003), and a leading contender for the 2019 Delta North Senatorial seat, Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko has called on Nigerians especially the people of Delta North Senatorial District to use the occasion of this years’ anniversary to redouble their faith in the Unity, Peace and Progress of the Country.
In a statement issued by his Media Team, the Prince of Anioma advised Nigerians against seeing the Independence Day as a mere passing day for celebrations, but to consider it as an occasion to appreciate the gains so far recorded by the country as a Nation and also use the occasion to generate a positive perspectives towards the future of the Country as a Strong, United and Prosperous Nation.
He further urged all citizens to look inwards and think of ways they could selflessly contribute their quotas towards the growth and development of the Nation and particularly to be law abiding and uphold the sanctity of a United indivisible Nigeria and her institutions.
The international legal icon counselled Anioma people against associating with separatists in whatever guises they may appear, insisting that Anioma people’s interests are better served under a restructured, united and democratic Nigeria.
He promised to live up to the mantle of a strong defender of the interests of Anioma region if given the mandate to speak on their behalf at the Red Chamber and urged the people to remain focused in the pursuit of a better, vibrant and more united Anioma region where all citizens are partakers of the benefits of good governance and reaffirmed his total commitment to ameliorating the plights of the rural communities within the limits of his financial capacity, to promote peace and stability in the country.
He prayed for the good health of the President, President Mohammadu Buhari and that of the Governor of Delta State. Sen. Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, and pray God to continue to give them the strength and wisdom to pilot the affairs of the Nation in their respective capacities.
