An Islamic organisation, Nasrul-Lahi-li Fathi Society of Nigeria (NASFAT), on Tuesday donated relief materials to victims of the recent Kasuwan Magani crisis in Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The materials donated include: 63 set of wrappers, bags of maize, cartons of spaghetti, noodles, bags of millet among others
While presenting the materials to the Sarkin Kasuwan Magani, Ibrahim Abdullahi, the chairman of NASFAT Kaduna Branch, Muhydeen Yusuf said the donation is part of the social impact programme of the society, by reaching out to the people especially in difficult period.
Yusuf said the visit was not only to donate the relief materials but also identify with people of the community over their travails.
” NASFAT as a society, is mainly concerned with charity, helping the needy, especially at a trying time, when they are in need of essential materials like the ones we brought here today.
“This is to show brotherhood. We believe that the materials will go a long way to help them recover from some of their losses,” Yusuf said.
The NASFAT chairman called on people of the community to be more committed to oneness, unity and love, so as to end the recurring communal violence in the area.
Also, Hajia Kudurat Akande, an official of the organisation, said the wrappers were contributed women members of the society.
Akande, who is the secretary of women wing of the group said, “we are concerned with what happened to the people, especially the women and that is why it becomes necessary for us, the women to donate from our little resources to help women victims of the crisis”.
Responding on behalf of the people of the community, the traditional leader, lauded the efforts of NASFAT, and urged people across the state to live in peace.
Abdullahi also called on the state government to redouble efforts to ensure that peace reign not only in Kasuwan Magani but in the whole of the state.
The community leader appealed for more donations to victims from wealthy individuals and organisations.
While praying for peaceful coexistence, the zonal missioner of NASFAT, Imam Marooph Raji said whoever shows mercy to another person, Allah shall bless the person.
Imam Raji lauded the prompt response of the Kaduna government during the crisis and warned the youth against all forms of violence. NAN.
