Hon. Sulaiman Yakubu Azara, a member representing Awe south constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has commenced the construction of two Dams worth over two million naira in Ribi and Ibi Alago towns in Awe south constituency.
Speaking to our correspondent, the law maker revealed that “by the time the Dam project is completed, it will not only serve as a source of water to the communities but for irrigation farming too which is the major occupation of his people.”
The contractor has already assembled modern excavator and bulldozer at the sites to ensure quality job is done. According to Hon Azara, the two Dams sited in Ribi and Ibi respectively, are expected to be completed within 10 days.
While inspecting the commencement of work at the site in Ribi, he explained that the gesture is part of his unwavering commitment to deliver on the covenant between him and the people of Ribi Chiefdom.
“ I am calling on the people of Awe south to continue to show support and understanding to me and government at all levels. I assured you that i will not fail on my responsibilities of ensuring inclusive and purposeful representation at the hollow chamber.” He said.
He assured the people of his readiness to work, despite the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic currently ravaging the world economy.
The traditional ruler of Ribi, Alhaji Ibrahim Salihu Jarme whom could not hide his excitement , showed gratitude to the lawmaker for remembering his people. “This is the first of its kind in this area. I assure you that I will personally supervise the project until completion. May God bless and reward you abundantly,” he said.
