Speaker of Nasarawa House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, has commiserated with President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerian Army over the death of Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 others.
This is contained in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Keffi on Sunday.
The speaker, while expressing shock over the sudden death of Attahiru and others, described it as one death too many for the country, especially at this challenging time.
“The death of late Attahiru and 10 other officers are colossal and monumental loss to the country.
“We wish to condole with President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerian army and the families of the deceased as well as Nigerians over the painful losses,” he said.
The speaker, who urged Nigerians to see their death as an act of God, prayed for the repose of their souls.
He said that the late officers had paid supreme price to secure their fatherland and pray God to grant them peace in the world beyond, and their families the fortitude to bear the losses.
NAN reports that the late Attahiru and 10 other officers died in a plane crash in Kaduna on Friday. (NAN)
